Nasogastric tube (NGT):
This is a long, thin tube, which is passed via a baby’s nose into his
stomach. When the tube is passed through the mouth it's called an oro-gastric
tube (OGT). This tube has several functions but in the main it is used as a way
to give a baby small and frequent milk feeds.
Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC)
Nectotising enterocolitis is a condition where a baby's intestines become
inflamed.
Neurodevelopmental
Neurodevelopmental outcome is a measure of how a baby learns and adapts to
his environment. It is concerned with growth and movement, language and
communication, play and behaviour and social and emotional aspects of
development in the baby.

NNU
This is a shortened form of neonatal unit. This includes both intensive
care and special care nurseries.
Nest
A 'nest' is a small oval shaped sheet with padded sides. Babies can be
snuggled into the nest and made to feel contained.
NICU
This is a shortened form of neonatal intensive care unit.
